Alsager WSD Calendar 2010

 Visitors are most welcome at each of the Friday evening meetings - £3.00, maximum of 3 meetings a year. (If you then join you will get a reduction on the membership fee.)

We often have spaces for visitors at the Saturday workshops. Please contact either Janet or Jane for more details. Prices vary for workshops, usually this will be £20.00-£25.00 (full day) for a visitor, with a deposit needed.

Alsager Community Church

Spinning, weaving etc

A chance to have a relaxing evening after Christmas. Bring along any new textile related ‘toys’! A chance to ask questions, brush up on a skill & share expertise

Winter workshop

Saturday January 30th all day

Textures on a loom- suitable for a rigid heddle

Leno, sumac, rya and from your own handspun yarn

Peglooms and weaving sticks

A chance to find out what you can do with these, and to try them out if you have never explored them before.

Different animals and their fleece- what we can do with it

Bring you wheel, drop spindle, loom or some knitting to try some different fibres.

Another workshop in our successful   series. This time we’re learning how to dye with procion dyes for cotton. Linen, flax, viscose & silk

National Trust

National week of Weaving, Spinning and Dyeing- come and visit us. We’ll be demonstrating weaving and spinning and have textile items on display too. Normal opening hours and admission charges apply.

It is a beautiful building, with a great restaurant, so come and have a great day out.

Preparations for the Exhibition

Bring a pen- and your items for the exhibition plus the exhibition submission list so we can type labels. If you are writing text for a display bring this too, so we can type and laminate it.

Visitors welcome as always, we're sure to try and spin, weave or whatever too and if you can't get to the exhibition you might just see some of the items
