What Happens at a Meeting?

The meeting is from 7.00 - 10.00 on the second Friday of the Month.
It's held normally in the Community Church in the middle of Alsager and has a large free car park next to it.

We try and start the meeting at 7.15 for the Business so that we can have a mini workshop at each meeting and learn new skills.

After signing in and choosing what we would like to drink later we usually have a chat! If you are new some-one will look after you for the evening so you do not feel on your own - we pride ourselves on trying to integrate everyone into a happy team!

Business is as brief as possible ( as we all receive a newsletter before the meeting). Anyone who has a textile related bit of news can give it.

Following the business section we have a show and tell, we tend to sit in a circle and everyone has a chance to show progress on items etc- it might be sharing a book title, passing round some different fleece, showing progress in an item, asking for help or suggestions, showing your first spun wool, showing what you have done with the product of a previous workshop etc. This has come to be a special part of each meeting and gives everyone ideas of their own.

Then we do the mini workshop, this is always voluntary and you can either take part, watch or get on with your own thing.
About 9-9.15 we have refreshments and a chance to catch up with others in the group. This is special and two /three members each month prepare the drinks and provide cake - very often home-made and amazing!

We then do a bit more of our mini workshop or clear up and look forward to meeting again soon.
