Lichen Dyeing
For our annual dyeing evening this year we investigated lichen dyeing - having carefully and thoughtfully selected our lichens from areas where they were prevalent. As usual we dyed sample 10g skeins. We just scoured the wool but did not use any mordant. After dyeing we used a selection of additives to give a range of colours from the orginal dye source. Unfortunately we forgot to take the usual picture of everyone's skeins so do pop back to look for these after the next guild meeting. Hopefully members will bring their skeins to show others who couldn't attend.
Getting started. Note it was not a hot sunny evening!
